They picked me up as planned in a roomy van, loaded with top end equipment. Registration was straight forward, and communication from Matt and the team was consistent and helpful (they want to make sure that you are ready and comfortable). This was a first-rate experience from start to finish. If you like riding, these guys obviously do too, This is a reason for me to come back to Seattle, and I’ll be back. Towers of Power, Raging River, Poppin’tops, Flow State, Canyon Creek. Most fun I’ve had on a bike was bombing down that mountain, the Bike ( giant trance pro advanced 1) provided by Seattle Mountain Bike Tours was a beast and perfect for the terrain we were on. Miles supplied snacks and a drink, we chilled out and took some pics before sending it back down the Mountain. Miles had well timed breaks for pictures where “I” needed and good info about the area and soon we were at the top (11km, 682m vertical). Geared up with some body armour and went for a bit of a climb (Upward Mobilty & Raging River Trails), the up was work but well worth it. Packed out for a short drive and a delicious lunch and headed to Rattlesnake Mountain. Had a blast ripping around the park (Bootcamp, Movin’on, Eternal Flow, Voodoo Child, Duthie Bike park is incredible and it’s a free public park!) for couple hours and getting some useful tips and trips my guide Miles. Picked me up at my Hotel and we headed out to Duthie Bike Park to get the bike dialed in and assess what kind of riding I was interested in. Make sure to grab your Voodo Music Festival tickets before they sell out.Wow, just bring your shoes and some clothes and these guys sort out the rest. The 2018 festival map has yet to be released yet, but I’ve included the 2017 map to give you an idea of the lay of the land. There are also massive and interactive art installations to explore throughout the festival grounds. The grounds contain three stages, the Altar (the main stage), the South Course, and Le Plur (the EDM stage). Voodoo’s festival grounds are nestled in City Park and are quite spacious. Voodoo is your chance to get creative so let it all out! In 2016, I dressed up as Miley Cyrus, a hippie, and a nun (pictured below). Everyone at VooDoo (and all New Orleans during Halloweekend) will be rocking costumes and getting their spook on. There’s already plenty of dressing up at regular music festivals, but Halloween is the time to go hard or go home. Make time to explore Bourbon Street, Jackson Square, the Garden District, and don’t forget to get a beignet (basically a deep-fried pastry covered in powdered sugar - yum!) at the world famous Cafe du Monde. Overall, it makes a great vacation spot so I recommend taking a few extra days to not only enjoy the festival but to also explore the city. There’s also tons of historic spots to visit in New Orleans. It's an especially fun place to be during Halloween because the entire city goes all out for this holiday. New Orleans is famous for its nightlife, live music scene, and delicious cuisine that reflects a blend of French, African, and American culture. If you’ve never been, this is the time to go. Voodoo takes place each year in New Orleans, Louisiana. With acts like Odesza, Zeds Dead, Tipper, Rufus Du Sol, Kayzo, and Space Jesus, you’ll be sure to get your EDM fix. I’ve been dying to see Arctic Monkeys since my emo days and Childish Gambino is one of the hottest rappers in the game right now. Voodoo is the festival you can bring all of your friends to and ensure there’s something for everyone. Voodoo Music Festival boasts a wide variety of genres, including EDM, rock, pop, and rap.
